Dedication

On October 11th we had Tyler's baby dedication. In a protestant church, it is the equivalent to a christening, although the protestant church does not believe that a dedication ensures salvation. The dedication is more of the parents promising to raise their child in a home that will foster their child's understanding of God and will help guide them to a relationship with God through Jesus Christ and his free gift of salvation. That being said, ours was a few Sundays ago. Tyler did not sleep well the night before, and this day was a big day. It started with the dedication and lunch at Denny's and ended with his first hockey game with mommy and daddy (I will post this later).

This is a picture of the ceremony. You will notice our son's friend grabbed hold of Tyler's hand. It was really cute.

This is the heritage of Christian grandparents that Tyler comes from.

This is the Christian family that will help us to raise Tyler in a Godly home. In the picture are John's sisters and their children. Not pictured is my brother.

(I know Tyler looked really tired in the pictures above, no sleep and no nap will do that to a seven month old)

This is my friend Kara, who first got me to attend our church. I cannot believe that we dedicated Tyler at this church, 12 years later. She has been such a blessing in my life.

This is my friend Amy who also attended the ceremony and breakfast. I know that she is a great example for Tyler.

I know there are so many others who were not able to attend the dedication. Please continue to pray for our family. Pray that we can raise Tyler to become the person that God created him to be. Thank you for all of your love and support. We would not be the family that we are without all of you. We are truly blessed.
